COMMENTS

The Louisville Urban League is opposed to any measure that would openly allow discrimination. We applauded the efforts of Greg Fischer''s administration and Louisville Metro Council when the anti-discrimination ordinance was signed into law in 2020 prohibiting landlords from discrimination practices against individuals who receive federal funding or any other financial subsidy. Our housing landscape in Louisville and other cities is facing a crisis. Affordable housing options are dwindling and the need for renter protection should be a priority. Housing legislation should create legal protections and fewer barriers for those who are vulnerable in our urban cities and rural counties.
